Biography

I grew up on Eagle Lake, just north of Willmar, Minnesota. I graduated from UW-Stout in Hotel and Restaurant Management and went on to receive an MBA from Columbia College. I started with RMC in 1994 as the General Manager of the Super 8 in Wausau, WI, moved to Columbia, MO to open the Hampton Inn in 1996 and have been in my current role since 2003. Earlier in my career, I worked with focused service hotel companies and spent time managing food and beverage operations. I met my wife, Katy, in college. We were married in 1981 and have four children. My wife and I enjoy traveling and spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. I also like to spend time outdoor gardening or doing home remodeling projects.
